Martin sits as Carolina loses to UK

South Carolina’s first-year coach, Frank Martin, did not show his trademark sideline intensity Tuesday night.
Instead, he mostly sat and watched Kentucky beat his Gamecocks 77-55.
“I don’t coach if our guys aren’t doing what we’re supposed to do,” he said. “We didn’t do a single thing we talked about in two days of practice.”
More than once during the game, a UK fan could be heard yelling at Martin to get off his (duff) and coach.
“I’m not going to stand up there and clap so people think I’m still coaching,” he said. “. . . Maybe some guys are good at standing up and playing a part. I try to be the part.”
