Kentucky Coach John Calipari held up last season’s team as a reason not to be alarmed if the Cats do not have great shooting from multiple sources.
“(In 2011-12), we had Michael Kidd (Gilchrist),” he said before shrugging. “We had Marquis Teague (another shrug). Terrence Jones (shrug).”
UK had one standout shooter in the starting lineup: Doron Lamb. One shooter off the bench in Darius Miller and a third shooter, Kyle Wiltjer, who played a support role.
“We did all right,” Calipari said. “What they would do is they’d will shots when they needed to make shots. You knew they were competitive enough, they’d figure out the way to make them.”
