Kenny Rollins, a member of Kentucky basketball’s Fabulous Five, passed away late Tuesday night.
Rollins, who turned 89 on Sept. 14, was a guard on UK’s 1948 national championship team that became known as the Fabulous Five.
“He was a pretty good basketball player, but he was a great father,” said his son, Kevin Rollins. “He was always there, always willing to listen and always willing to share when I asked.”
Rollins had been living with his son in Indiana since 2004.
The family plans a visitation at the K House on Oct. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Interment will be at the Lexington Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Oct. 20.
