NCAA president Mark Emmert acknowledged Thursday that he received threats from Kentucky fans after freshman Enes Kanter was ruled permanently ineligible in early January. As a result,(to be) bleeped.”
Emmert noted that the threats were not something he enjoyed receiving.
“I certainly appreciate passionate fans,” Emmert said. “The last thing you want is fans that are not passionate.
“But we have to be careful that (passion) doesn’t become an excuse for repugnant behavior.”

Jerry Tipton of the Lexington Herald- Leader has covered Kentucky basketball since the 1981-82 season. That time includes five coaches, five Final Fours, four athletic directors, two interim athletic directors and many memories. Before coming to Lexington, Tipton worked eight years for the Huntington (W.Va.) Herald-Dispatch. He covered Marshall’s basketball team for two seasons before coming to the Herald-Leader.

Mark:
Well then you need to start looking at your own organization. They are an affront to consistency, logic and apparently in the case of your friends with the Fiesta Bowl, legality. I’d call that repugnant myself.

Talk about a repugnant organization, don’t look in the mirror in the morning and especially when unlocking your office. If the NCAA was equal in their dealings with all schools, then a successful governing body might be accomplished. As it stands now, the NCAA is a bunch of power hungry men that have big heads. No, I’m not a UK fan, but what your rulings were on Enes Kanter and then making the repugnant decisions on Cam Newton and the Ohio State football players, which now has come back to bite them in the A__. I believe that the NCAA should be rated below car salesmen.
