Sandy Bell confident Brown did not violate NCAA rules

Sandy Bell, Kentucky’s chief compliance officer, said Saturday she was confident that Hall of Fame Coach Larry Brown did not violate NCAA rules during his visit to UK this week.

That became an issue when UK center Josh Harrellson said Friday that Brown participated in practices, even stopping drills to offer instruction.

UK Coach John Calipari, who considers Brown a friend and mentor, said he encouraged players to seek advice from Brown.

Both actions could be considered in violation of NCAA rules. The NCAA permits visitors like Brown to counsel coaches and observe practicees. But the visitor cannot interact with players on or off the court.

“They know what they can and can’t do,” Bell said of the UK coaches. “We’ve been talking too people all week.”

Bell acknowledged that she could not rule out that Brown violated NCAA rules.

“If he did, we’ll deal with it,” said Bell, who added that it would be a secondary violation.

You would think that with all of the cutbacks and downsizing at the H-L, you would have been cut by now. You’re the worst sportswriter I’ve ever read, regardless of any affiliations – but your continuous railing against Calipari and the men’s basketball program makes your readers hate you on a personal level, as well. If you DO get a pink slip, just apply at the C-J. I’m sure they’d love to have you.

Also, I’ve never see a professional writer who doesn’t know the proper usage of “too” and “to”. So…add “moron” to “hack” and “jerk” and we’ve got a pretty good picture of you, Jerry.

Keep hoping Jerry. It would be an early Christmas for you.

No way Cal would allow anything happen that would bring attention to the Kentucky program. No way! Hasn’t Cal been about reproach when it comes to violating the NCAA rules? He knows nothing, doesn’t let extra riders on the team planes, wouldn’t dare let World Wide Wes take a player test shopping to get the right site to get the right score, lose a grade book here and there, bring in a professional player from Europe, none of things would EVER happen under a program with Cal being responsible for its success. Not Cal!

Jerry, apparently your detractors care less about the violation then bashing you. They don’t want to hear about how Cal is skirting the rules of the NCAA and would rather go after you instead.
Cal is our savior to take us to the next level. Well, at least that was what told to us when Todd and Barnhart ‘talked’ to the NCAA and told us he was clean as a whistle. BUT then the NCAA said they talked to no one and especially wouldn’t comment on Cal while the investigation at Memphis was on going. Oops!
Cal convinces a professional player from Europe that he’ll get him eligible to play college ball at Kentucky. Oops 2, the world professional means the same in Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, all around the world. Just not to Cal.
Of course this will explained by Cal ‘knows nothing’ the same as Shultz didn’t.
Hasn’t the ride been great? More negative press for the program and while we were told he was going to get the big trophy for us, he tells us he’s about getting players in the NBA, not about championships. Whatta thought about that?

This is the second post with either a spelling error or grammar error. The last one you spelled input as imput and this one you quoted Sandy Bell as saying “We’ve been talking too people all week.”, no Tubton, it’s “We’ve been talking to people all week.”
