Birmingham (Ala.) City Schools officials said Thursday that its report on Eric Bledsoe’s high school academic performance will be made public next week.
Originally, the report was expected to be made public this week.
Bledsoe, one of five Kentucky players drafted in the first round by a NBA team this year, had his academic records questioned by NCAA officials, The New York Times reported earlier this year.
According to the story, Bledsoe made enough improvement after transferring schools to draw the interest of the NCAA. The story also alleged that Bledsoe’s high school coach tried to barter his college commitment for money.
In light of the NCAA questions and The New York Times story, Birmingham City Schools began a review of Bledsoe’s academic records.
If NCAA ruled Bledsoe academically ineligible for the 2009-10 college season, UK could potentially face having to vacate the 35 victories and return money received for NCAA Tournament participation.
