Clarification: Patterson’s new truck in Huntington

I just had a pleasant conversation with Tywanna Patterson, the mother of Kentucky  big man Patrick Patterson. She asked that a clarification be made about the game story on UK’s Blue-White Game.

Patterson did not drive his vehicle, a Lincoln Mark LT, to the game.

His parents did buy him the Lincoln Mark LT. The truck was “a gift for all his hard work,” his mother said.

The car remains in Huntington. Patterson’s parents intended the car as a Christmas present, she said.

Why don’t you move to the Courier-Journal where you won’t have to make up crap to get your jollies? You would have a field day with the UL family.

Clarification? How about “Correction”? Or “Sorry I Made Crap Up”? You print something false, something that came across like innuendo, and when you’re called out (by Patrick’s mother), you say it’s merely a “clarification”? I don’t think that’s what the word means, Jerry. Let me clear this up for you: You offer CLARIFICATION on points that leave the reader confused or uncertain. You CORRECT statements that are false or misleading. Your statement CLEARLY falls into the latter category.

Get a clue.

She didn’t ask for crap. YOU called her after you editor ate your AZZ because you lied, and your rag posted it. You can’t even handle an apology like a man.

And your beating up of Wall on the video was shameful. Why don’t you try that with someone who doesn’t have a fortune to lose by breaking your nose? First poster is correct. Your a vile son of a bitch, and a coward.

A columnist is welcome to his opinion, a reporter and his editor should stick to facts. Did Tipton see Patterson drive his vehicle to and from the game? Did Patterson say this to Tipton? Apparently not. These are made up facts, in the common vernacular, known as lies. Tipton and the sports editor need to explain. Testicular fortitude is called for. Do you have it?

Quotes from the article:

Patrick Patterson has new wheels, a Lincoln Mark LT, courtesy of his father. The black truck is not the only difference for Kentucky’s big man.
“I’ve got a new game to go with my new car,” he said. “I’m trying to show the new areas I’m working on.”

………… 18 paragraphs …………

For Patterson, the fun figures to continue when he climbs back into his new black truck.
“He just gave in,” Patterson said of his father finally fulfilling his pleadings for a new vehicle. “I’m ecstatic.”

It was a good article Jerry. You have nothing to apologize for. I question the sanity of the Kentucky fanatics. You should question your safety living among them. No wonder Obama refuse to visit the Commonwealth.
