UK announces pairings for Cancun challenge

Kentucky gave a peek at its 2009-10 schedule on Tuesday by announcing the pairings for the Cancun (Mexico) Challenge, which will be played Thanksgiving week.

UK will play Cleveland State on Nov. 24 in one semifinal game. Virginia will play Stanford in the other semifinal.

The event begins with two warmup games for UK, Cleveland State, Virginia and Stanford. UK plays Sam Houston State on Nov. 19 and Rider on Nov. 21 in its warmup games.

Here’s the pairings for the games in Mexico:

Nov. 24

Kentucky vs. Cleveland State

Virginia vs. Stanford

Florida A&M vs Rider

Oral Roberts vs. Sam Houston State

Nov. 25

Kentucky-Cleveland St. winner vs. Virginia-Stanford winner

Kentucky-Cleveland St. loser vs. Virginia-Stanford loser

Florida A&M-Rider winner vs. Oral Roberts-Sam Houston State winner

Florida A&M-Rider loser vs.Oral Roberts-Sam Houston State loser
