Kentucky Coach John Calipari just sent a twitter message updating his activities in China. No mention of the NCAA Committee on Infractions hearing on the allegations of rule-breaking committed during his 2007-08 season for Memphis.
Calipari is expected to participate in the hearing via a teleconference hookup. He is in China on a goodwill trip.
His twitter message was: “Met with tom.com. tryin 2 get new web page into china. lookin promising. Had 2 interviews w/ major sports pages (2 mil readers daily) . . .”
Meanwhile, back at the Indianapolis hearing, the partipants just took a break. It game about 90 minutes into the hearing.
In a second twitter message, Calipari said he had dinner with “a special guest that we’ll reveal later.” He also said that he’d be forwarding pictures from Bejing’s Forbidden City and “the square” at an unspecified later time. Presumably, he meant Tiananmen Square, scene of the 1989 pro-democracy protests.
