Cal to speak to Human Resources group

Turn your Twitters to stun: John Calipari’s high visability will include a speech to an audience of Human Resources specialists.

The Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM) and the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce that University of Kentucky Men’s Basketball Coach John Calipari will be the featured keynote of its 25th Annual Kentucky SHRM Conference, presented by UnitedHealthcare of Kentucky, September 16-18, 2009 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville. Calipari will speak at 8 a.m., Thursday, September 17.

Calipari was named head coach of the UK Men’s Basketball team in April. He was previously the head coach at the University of Memphis for nine seasons, and in 2008, he led the Tigers to the 2008 NCAA championship game.

In addition coaching, Calipari is also a motivational speaker and author of the soon-to-be released Bounce Back: Overcoming Setbacks to Succeed in Business and in Life. He is also the 2009 Sports Illustrated National Coach of the Year.

The 25th Annual Kentucky SHRM Conference provides training in the areas of benefits and compensation, personnel law, management and motivation, and advanced training for human resource professionals throughout Kentucky.
