Governor to play host to Coach Cal

Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has invited new UK Coach John Calipari to be the guest of honor at a reception Wednesday at the Governor’s Mansion.

This will give the Calipari honeymoon a friends-in-high-places touch.

Meanwhile, North Carolina one-upped Kentucky on the political front. The UNC team went to the White House on Monday. The Tar Heels presented President Barack Obama with a jersey. To which, Obama said, “If someone could please present me with a jump shot. I need one of those.”

President Obama may get a jumpshot, but he’ll still be easy to guard. He can only go left.

With or without John Wall, Coach Calipari should field team that should finish in the Top Ten. Liggins especially should like the new offense.
