Point guard prospect Eric Bledsoe will announce his college choice on Wednesday, his high school coach said on Monday.
Coach Maurice Ford of Parker High School in Birmingham, Ala., said that Bledsoe will announce for either Kentucky or Memphis on Wednesday.
Bledsoe visited both schools last week, beginning with Memphis on Thursday and then traveling to Kentucky.
During media interviews promoting the Derby Festival Basketball Classic in April, Bledsoe noted how he felt like a Plan B when recruited by John Calipari at Memphis. He said with a smile that he got the same feeling as a target of Kentucky’s.
The point guard of choice would be John Wall, who is widely considered the best player in the high school class of 2009. Wall is reportedly going to narrow his list of eight schools as soon as Monday.

He would be better off at Memphis anyway. Cal has his hand full with too many players as is. As it is UK is already one or two players too many for next season.

As a UK Alum. Bledsoe, we would LOVE to have you over Wall. I have watched interviews of both and highlights of both. The overall better person is you Eric. You have a chance right now to go to a school that WILL be competing for NC’s every year you are there. You won’t have any chance to win big at Memphis and you will never be in the spotlight there. UK wants you Eric, please want us to.

Bledsoe may have been plan B to Wall, but I get more the feeling now that Cal wants Bledsoe in Lexington and is growing tired of all of the Wall saga. NO WAY do you wish this kid off to Memphis, he will be a STUD and I’d rather that happen here and help return us to Glory!!!!
Hopefully he will decide to come to Kentucky. We are missing that position for our team.

Mr Bledsoe, i would love to see you in Kentucky Blue this fall. Even “If” John Wall does decide on UK, the point guard position at one of the best programs in all of basketball, would be yours as early as next season.

Why would anyone want to go to Memphis and play for a frat boy instead of playing for a proven coach at UK? Bledsoe is smarter than that.

I would hate for John Calipari to do to Eric Bledsoe what he did to Willie Kemp at Memphis. He recruited him and recruited him and then when he got a better offer for PG he put Willie on the back burner and always made him feel inadequate. Bledsoe has too much talent to be put on the back burner at KY. He should come to Memphis and shine!
Calipari is looking out for no one but Calipari. He is so self serving, he talks a big talk to the kids when he recruiting them and then once he has reeled them in his only concern is what is the best thing for him, not the kids! Ask all the kids he lied to at Memphis regarding this year!

Why not both Wall and Bledsoe? Wall is probably a one and done, Bledsoe would be a more than capable back up for Wall and then would be an experienced point guard after next year.

A Bledsoe signed is better than a Wall maybe. I think Bledsoe give us a chance at back to back final fours before he leaves uk. He was .6 of a rebound away from averaging a triple double last year. He Orton & Miller will be the nucleus for UK successfully remaining in the National Championship Picture for the next 4 years and beyond. GO CATS

Cal has Wall delaying his announcement for UK until after Bledsoe, in hopes of getting them both. Wall is the starter, Bledsoe is the backup. Bledsoe won’t go to UK if Wall is signed, thus the delay in Wall’s announcement. If Bledsoe announces tomorrow, Wall will announce by the end of the week.

the only problem with the scenerio of Walls delay theory of waiting for Bledsoe to decide in hopes of landing both. The opposite could happen and neither commit to UK…UK will not get both…think about it without the UK horse blinds folks…
We need you to play at Rupp Arena. Once you play in there and they chant your name you will never regret it. 24,000 plus chanting ur name. You got to have depth for a team to win a national championship. eric you give us that depth. Even if you are a plan B so what? You still get time to play. Keep the players fresh by playing minutes at a time. Hell Patterson and Meeks be leaving so we need all we can get. UK went to the national championship game 3 years in a row because of depth. So we should see you at Rupp This fall.

I’ve said it before. I would rather have Bledsoe. He has more long-term upside and seems like a classy recruit. I hate to see UK go down the road of chasing one and done guys. There’s too few Anthony’s & Rose’s out there, and UK shouldn’t dive in with the mid-majors in chasing these guys “hard”. It cheapens the program. My opinion.
Forget Wall. He’s not a team player. He’s a “only me” player. He gets the ball and drives through to the hoop. Forget passing the ball to anyone else. Bledsoe would be a perfect match for the long run for UK. A talent we could use right away and slowly build a stronger team.
how do you know that bledsoe isnt better than wall or vice versa. its a team game….time for good players will always be available. do you want individual honors of a ncaa championship. everyone is making this out to be a allo or nothing situation…Eric, play for UK and you will be at a program that will give you a ncaa ring…cal is planning to recruit the best of the best and you fit this plan.

I think that bledsoe would be the better fit here for us anyway. Wall is a one and done and Bledsoe is almost as good and will be in school for 2 to 3 years. Plus he is a beast , has anyone seen his pic? Lets hope he comes here because if he doesnt we might not have a legit point gard next year (Hint Walls going to UNC). So please Eric if you do read this we really need you so pick UK.

i say lets quit chasing wall around everywhere! if he really wanted to come to kentucky, he would have already commited and signed. bledsoe is our next best option. i would rather sign the 3rd ranked point guard in the country then take a risk at loosing the #1 ranked guard to another school and bledsoe going to memphis. wall is a one and done guy anyways, atleast with bledsoe we have a chance to build a team around him where he will stay atleast 2 to 3 years and may even leave with a degree. come on bledsoe, welcome to big blue nation!!!
