Wall hasn’t narrowed list yet

John Wall’s hometown newspaper, The Raleigh (N.C.) News & Observer, reported late Monday morning that the highly regarded point guard prospect had not yet reduced his list of college choices. Wall was expected to reduce the list to three or four schools as early as Monday.

Here’s the posting from the News & Observer:

John Wall, the Raleigh Word of God basketball point guard, said  Monday morning that he had not narrowed his list of schools yet.

Wall, the top-ranked high school senior point guard in the country, made an official visit to Miami last weekend and was in school at Word of God on Monday.

He said he enjoyed his visit to Miami and that he had not narrowed his list of schools yet.

Wall had planned to trim his list of schools to three or four early this week.

Wall is expected to trim his list from N.C. State, Baylor, Duke, Memphis, Kentucky, Miami, Florida and Kansas.

Geez I hope this kid is worth the wait and the probable loss of other talented guards, but I have to believe Coach Cal feels he has a good shot at landing his young man. Go get him Coach!

Coach Cal, Let Wall go, he’s just using the media to get more pub. He knows where he is going. I sure that there are point guards that are capable of play you style and would hop at the chance to play for UK.

Enough already! I am wondering if he is all we think he is? Troy you may be right. I feel we need to go after a point guard that will stay 4 years, that can direct the team. We don’t need another Rondo. But then what do I know . . . nothing. I really wise Mr. Porter all the good luck in the world. Thank son.

Hey Jerry,
It looks like this John Wall kid, as talented as he is and all that, seems to have a pendancy for procrastination and drama. Those are 2 qualities that I am familiar with being a Dad of 2 young-ins, myself. But, my dear old Mom always said, “Good things are worth the wait”….

As talented as I am sure that Wall is, is he worth the wait? I think so. I would give him another week and if he hasn’t committed move on to Bledsoe.

I think either Wall or Bledsoe will just be icing on the cake. With the talent coach Cal has already assembled coupled with the kids returning ( and I feel that will include Patterson and Meeks ) we are set to make a run deep into next years NCAA tournament. How deep will depend on how well they develop into a TEAM by the end of the season. Rember Rupps statement about Pete Marivitch. “One player can never beat 5 ” Great players cannot win National Championships without a great supporting cast. Michigan State didn’t have a group of super stars but they played well as a TEAM and look where they ended up this year !!!!

Those that don’t want to wait, do you guys remeber having to wait on Patrick Patterson? (i dont think it took quite this long) Is there anyone now who does not think that was worth the little extra wait?
