Optimism does not reign in Omaha

Walking to the Qwest Center Omaha, I had two people volunteer their opinion that Kentucky will beat Creighton Monday night.

Why?

Creighton is young. Creighton struggles inside.

The fans did not include (but could have) that its best three-point shooter, Booker Woodfox, made only four of 17 shots from beyond the arc in the last two games. Plus Patrick Patterson should be dominant inside, assuming UK gets him the ball.

We shall see beginning with the 7 p.m. EDT tipoff.

The winner will play at Notre Dame on Wednesday night. That game also tips off at 7 p.m. EDT. It will be televised by ESPN2.

Patterson and Meeks will get theirs…. I wanna see if we can get the much needed help from an overachieving Stevenson and Miller!!!

OTHER BIG KEYS TONIGHT— can we “BLOCK OUT” and get rebounds/Offensive and Defensive and can do the single most important element of the game (According to Coach Adolf Rupp) Can we “TAKE CARE OF THE BALL” and not set a record of “TURNOVERS” (no guards- no point guard– will still hurt us, and they have GOOD guard play…. If they have a good shooting night…this will probably do us in again…like so many times this season) WE HAVE NO POINT GUARD– NO FLOOR GENERALS…. Our only hope is THE INTERIOR GAME… (And I hope that someone finally puts a LEASH on Liggins, and Gallaway– before they ‘drive, dish, and turn-the-ball-over’ on us TO-DEATH!!!)
