Jasper not traveling to UK

Former UK guard Derrick Jasper will not be traveling with the UNLV team to Kentucky for Tuesday night’s game in the National Invitation Tournament.

Jasper played two seasons for UK before deciding to transfer last spring. He is sitting out this season as a transfer. That also gives him time to recovery from microfracture knee surgery of June, 2007. That surgery severely hampered his effectiveness for UK last season.

From reading news reports, it also played a factor in his decision to transfer.

Jasper has been reluctant to talk about why he decided to transfer.

During a SEC teleconference on Monday, UK Coach Billy Gillispie was asked what type of atmosphere he anticipated in Memorial Coliseum Tuesday night. That’s when UK plays UNLV, the winner likely to travel to Creighton for a second-round game.

“I have no idea,” Gillispie said of the atmosphere at the game. “We look forward to it.”

I have been watching UK men’s basketball since the 70′s. BG needs to go. If the UK AD does not think so, then the AD needs to go!

Why do you pay someone $1,000,000 per year to coach this type of game for this kind of bull@#$t! If his off the court behavior is no better than his coaching, what in the h@#l is the UK AD waiting for this to get better.

Show BG the da@n door now! Rupp is turning over in his grave with what is happening at UK. If your AD does not have the ability to understand that this BG needs to go, well, you have got to be kidding me!
